This issue was a case in which 3 persons committed a crime, so I cannot find a reason to make guilty the whole team. And we cannot forget that Renault investigation has been the strongest prove to ban Flavio Briatore.

On the other hand, this scandal is quite a lot different than McLaren’s one in 2007. I any case I found a joke the sentence for McLaren. They basically punished Dennis for lying to the FIA, not for the spying affair.

My opinion on this, is Ron Denis paid a big fine to keep him out of “owing” something to Max, he just did not want to say to Max: “I was wrong and I lay to you” and Max put a high price for this, that finally have cost Ron to be in F1.

Anyway, Max is leaving F1 with the heads of most of his personal enemies. I cannot imagine many people attending his burial when he finally dies, maybe a few… But just to be sure Max is in the coffin.

I really like your ending comment about parenting. I'm sure Piquet, Sr., is a very proud and pushy character. A 3 time world champ who sees his son hanging onto his job by a thread must have been disheartening at best, humiliating at worst. I'm the pressure he placed on his son - and, correspondingly, the pressure Jr. placed on himself - has played a huge role in this matter.

If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. More importantly, STAY OUT!

This is Bernie's planet, right? So this morning I saw this headline at Autoevolution:

Montezemolo: Massa's Teammate Will Be Finnish or Spanish

And that was after this one:

Ecclestone Supports Todt for
FIA Presidency

And I though, maybe the whole thing was about getting a clean grab at Flav's assets.

I can only think about the fact that, all and all, Nelsinho seems to end up as a victim. And I can't stand that.

While agreeing with you about the ONE HUNDRED MEELION DOLLARS, I think you're wrong about Briatore. Trulli's comment was in no way backhanded... Unless you think the whole point of getting into F1 was is to have great strategy or great mechanical insight. But most people would say the purpose is to entertain by winning, and Flavio did that brilliantly.

My sneakiest feeling is that every now and then Bernie thinks someone's getting too big for his britches, so he has them taken out by sniper fire. This has been a bad year: Goodnight, Mr. Dennis. (Six championships? Eight? Can't tell from Wikipedia.) Goodnight, Mr. Briatore (four championships.) If I were Frank Williams, I'd make sure my Christmas cards were in the post office on time this year.
