There's no doubt there was pressure on Heidfeld to let Kubica through. It appears to me as a team order not as some (Mario Thiesen) suggest his own decission. All that because Robert is the BMW's lead dog so far this year. I do believe he would have won if he held Robert for a few more laps (2-3) which he was perfectly able to do.
It reminds me of Kimi's championship win last year when Massa had to let him through forced to take 2nd place in the name of loyalty. All that in his own country in front of all the fans who came to see him win again.
I deeply feel for Heidfeld now as I felt for Massa then. Things like that take the spirit out of the sport in my opinion. It turns out to be all about the money in the end not the sportsmanship, that takes the sense out of competing.
I strongly feel Kubica deserves to win but in the fair and square battle by outperforming all his opponents, not by shear luck or team politics. I am his huge fan, and it's not because I am Polish. I hugely believe in his raw talent and abilities. I will not be surprised if Ferrari would snatch Robert instead of Alonso when Kimi leaves.
I also wish people gave Lewis his due respect, he is a brilliant driver, but it's somewhat fashionable now to criticize him.
Look at Coulthard he makes 'rookie' mistakes in 3 out of 4 races and he's been in F1 for the last 47 years.

Just one thought before beginning to work.
Is it possible that Hamilton only knows how to drive when he is ahead of everyone? He certainly does that perfectly, but his mistakes when the situation is not under control are unforgivable. He should isolate himself from the noxious ambient that surrounds him and focus on progressing. Just like Kubica is doing, for instance. I fear that the pressure that was put on the shoulders of a GP2 winner was too much and his ankles are beginning to crackle.
Kubica's victory is probably the best news for a F1 fan. He is a great pilot, and has a great future ahead.

Agreed.

I was totally stoked that Kubica & BMW-Sauber won. I like Kubica - he's a nice, quiet, unassuming guy.

And I am happy for any team that wins a race to break the McLaren/Ferrari stranglehold on the sport.

But I hope that it is Nick's turn next. He really deserves it, and although I am sure he is happy for the team, you could see that he was disappointed not to be the one to get that first win.

Must admit, I did think of karma too, when I saw Lewis up Kimi's backside ! Considering the saftey car was out for Sutil, it all seemed a bit cosmic !
