Good to see that you can find the time for a good rant! I touched on this in my latest blog post ("What's Wrong with my Sounds?") which was posted (sadly) in July! Great to find your blog - please keep it up! I'm now psyching myself up for another rant on my own blog.

Computer games is an interesting one. There we do have the situation where you can only play games on one type of machine. Although as games consoles typically have a lifespan of 5--10 years maximum, I guess this is more like format wars than a nightmare world of not being able to play Sony CDs on non-Sony CD players.

Don't know much about Bioshock, as I'm not much of a gamer any more. But my view is the same for DRM in computer games as it is for DRM in everything else. It makes things more difficult for legitimate players and increases the incentive to download pirate versions. Games companies should be working on developing business models that deal with the reality of the world rather than tying their fans to shackles and pretending that the internet doesn't exist.

Any thoughts on DRM as it applies to computer games? e.g. see the kerfuffle over <a href="http://www.google.co.uk/search?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=bioshock+drm&btnG=Google+Search&meta=">Bioshock</a>
