And one that's not even cross-platform? Why didn't they just license Shockwave? Thirty thousand license fees on a white elephant. It's emblematic of public sector IT provision. To put it in perspective, $6 million is the sort of budget a blockbuster video game will entail. And those get released on time and working. We need a revolution. Looking at the technical details of the system implies it will require that infrastructure, and sadly business requirements have driven the technical details. With ITV about to relaunch their website to allow you to watch programmes online, it will be interesting to see if they are a step ahead of the Beeb or still a step behind as until now I've always found the BBC's online and interactive services pretty good.
