Yeah, I thought about the podcasts one as well. But I struggled to come up with its equivalent of the diary 'entry' or the blog 'post'. Is it episode? (Sorry, I don't listen to podcasts much!)

Oh and Deacon - you'd send them the internet down the Tubes of course :)

I get REALLY wound up when people say "read my latest blog" and my first thought it "oh have you launched a new one on a different subject" but the reality is that it's just a post.

The same appears in podcasting as well. The number 10 downing street 'podcasts' are among the worst offenders there.

And of course, if you wanted to tell someone you'd written your first blog, you would send them an internet.

am I the only person who gets a bit annoyed whenever somebody (almost always a non-blogger) calls a post a “blog”?

Oh hell no. Gets to me every time. And it's a bit like on CiF where some of the columnists that now get comments refer tot he commenters as "bloggers". No, mostly they're NOT bloggers, they're lazy arse commenters who can't be bothered to set their own site up (because if you can't set up a blogspot then you're too stupid for words).

There is a blog, it contains a series of articles, or posts. Each of these may (or may not) have a related set of comments. Calling a post "a blog" is stupid. Unfortunately, there are a number of bloggers that do it as well. When someone says "I blogged about" then I deal, but when they say "my blog on", then I cringe.
