I think I even went to a tour of it when I was about 8. I'm sure he came to Greenock town hall and they showed cartoons on a big screen. The blind chap in the cartoon was Mr Magoo. He also had the fantastic four and bugs bunny cartoons. Glen Michael had a habit of stopping the cartoons and walking on to the scene as if he was part of the action. That bit was annoying when you just wanted to watch cartoons. I think he had a little highland terrier as well. And when he was doing the birthday card segment, he would talk to the toddlers by going "ashewa ashewa". I always thought he could really talk to babies. Made up he is still alive and going strong. We used to watch it in black and white and it was always a revelation to see it in colour when we went to Granny's in Roomlin Gardens. Glen Michael certainly made the programme. His goofy style was often more entertaining than some of the pretty lame cartoons that they used to show. I remember it well as a child of the late 50s.
