Britpop was fabulous; not sure I’d have got through my student years without it. Having said that – we could have done without the Gallagher/Albarn egos.
Of course, at the same time, the post-grunge US bands were as dazzling (Throwing Muses, Veruca Salt et al); so Britpop was hardly the saviour of the modern music scene.

I was obviously young at the time britpop came into fashion, but I don’t believe that britpop had very much to do with influencing my musical tastes. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think so.
