Geograph is a very interesting project collecting photographs representing every square kilometre in the British Isles.
At the moment there are three for Kirkcaldy (although technically two of them are for Dysart and one of them is practically there anyway).
I might go out and take some photographs for it now! I just need to find a pretty part of Kirkcaldy…
I just did a search and found a lovely picture of the front of the Mercat. I’m not sure to what degree that counts as a “pretty part”! (The Beveridge Park used to be nice, but not so much anymore, really.)
You could try Ravenscraig park – it’s no bad. Not sure if there’s anywhere safe to take a photo, but the road running from Orrock Quarry, just as the road descends and turns to run under the railway bridge, you’ll get the town laid out with any river traffic. Failing those two, nip along to the costal path @ Seafield and get a photo looking back along the Esplanade – if it’s sunny then that can look pretty good.
Ah yes, the coastal path. That’s a good place!
