Blunkett advocates small government!

I just heard David Blunkett on BBC Radio Five Live. They were talking about school meals. Did David Blunkett regret not doing more when he was Education Secretary?
He said something like, “Yes, but I’m not sure if people have worked out whether or not this is the sort of thing the government should get involved with.”
David Blunkett: Can’t be arsed to serve some vegetables. Can be arsed to arrest people without charging them, abolish trial by jury and kick-start the introduction of ID cards.

From that quote, it sounds to me as if he doesn’t know what the hell he should have done. plonker.

Yup. Health warning though. As I say, that probably wasn’t exactly what he said because I heard it on the radio and, surprisingly enough, wasn’t scribbling down a transcription. But that’s what sounded like the gist of what he was saying to me.

Blair has apparently been hinting today that Blunkett will be back in the new Cabinet.
Police State – here we come! (vegetables optional)
