I’ve mentioned sometimes that (until recently) I didn’t like to listen to MP3s because I thought that they were of such poor quality.
There is a webpage that demonstrates the lossy nature of MP3s well. You may have heard of the Aphex Twin track where Richard D. James has hidden his face and some other things in it. If you haven’t, you can still read all about it in that article. Using the .wav file, Aphex’s face is clearly visible, but with the MP3 most of it disappears!

Audio-snobbery. MP3s are fine. And if your choice of music is shit in the first place, who cares about the sound quality?
